The biology of population of Uraba lugens may vary according to whether early instars are able to develop particular aggregation, while later instars may be affected adversely by crowding, mobility or dispersive behaviour and voraciousness making them contact and ingest unusually more pathogenic organisms. Though such early deaths are not recorded in natural aggregations the trends in mortality for late instars are a feature of natural populations of Uraba.
