Storage of seeds of Entandrophragma angolense (WELW).
1968
Damptey, H. B.
The seed of Entandrophragma angolense has a very short period of viability. Since the seed does not keep its viability for long, the only solution to the problem is to find the most suitable way of storage. An experiment was conducted with 50 seeds each under different storage conditions.- In the laboratory with a temperature of about 5oC and in an air conditioned laboratory with a temperature of 21oC. Germination tests were then carried out 15, 30, 45, 60 and 70 days after the experiment was set up. It can be said from the results that the various treatments had some effect on longevity of the seeds- especially those kept in the refrigerator.
