Genetic variability character of lowland rice

The experiment was conducted at INPPTP Bandar Buat 50 m a.s.l. Thirty eight rice genotypes were evaluated to estimate genetic variabilities and another genetic parameters. The results showed that heritabilities of all plant characters and yield were high (70.37 percent-98.13 percent). Only heritabilities of productive tillers was medium. Variability of yield components (productive tillers, weight of 1000 seeds, seed per ear, percentage number of filled spikelets per panicle) had a wide range genetic variability and selection for those component could be done at early generation
