Relationship between serum fatty acid levels and the number of embryos in supperovulated cows feeding calcium soap fatty acid

The purpose of this examination is to increase the number of embryos to collect by doing superovulation treatment to the cattle which fatty acid calcium was added to the diet. Statistics treatment was done to examine the relations of the number of embryos collected with linoleic acid concentration in the blood. Japanese Black Cattle and Japanese Brown Cattle were used for this examination in the total 168 cattles. In experiment A, B and C, fatty acid calcium was added to the diet from 21 to 22 days. That addition period was as day collected embryos from the estrus day before the superovulation treatment start. In experiment D, fatty acid calcium was added to the diet from 41 to 42 days : that addition period has been untill day (21 to 22 days) collected embryo from 21 days before estrus day to the superovulation treatment start. The quantity that fatty acid calcium was added was 100g per day in experiment A, B and D. The quantity that fatty acid calcium was added was 200g per day in experiment C. In experiment A, Megarakku was used as fatty acid calcium. In experiment Group B, C and D, Bypassmate L was used as fatty acid calcium. Acetic acid tocopherol was added to the diet in all the experimental groups to prevent the oxidization of fatty acid. Our data were as follows. Linoleic acid concentration in the blood rose by the addition of fatty acid calcium. But, between the rate of the amount of addition of fatty acid calcium and linoleic acid concentration in the blood was not in proportion. There was no significant difference between number of collected embryos in the experimental group and comparision group. But, in experiment C, it appears that the number of embryos collected in the experimental group tend to increase more than those in the comparision group.
