Present condition of measures for environment in land use planning system provided by the National Land Use Planning Act [in Japan]

The aim of this paper is to investigate present situation and problem of the land use planning system provided by the National Land Use Planning Act from the point of view of measures for environment. Followings are discussed; 1) quantity coordination of land use change in municipal Land Use Plans, 2) comprehensive consideration of land use in municipal Land Use Plans, 3) target setting for environment in municipal Land Use Plans, 4) conservation area setting in municipal Land Use Plans, 5) coordination over wide areas by Land Use Master Plans, 6) zoning of Land Use Master Plans, 7) the coordination guidance of Land Use Master Plans, 8) municipal Land Use Coordination Plans, 9) land trade control by the National Land Use Planning Act.
