Summary The purpose of this paper is analyzing the characteristic of paddy rice cultivation using crossbred ducks "Aigamo" in semi-mountainous areas. In 1990s' early paddy rice cultivation using crossbred ducks spread to all over the country. But recently that agricultural method has confronted to the many management and technical problems. The present time is selection stage of the agricultural method using crossbred ducks. In semi-mountainous areas full-time farmers that manage big scale Agricultural land are stopping paddy rice cultivation using crossbred ducks. But Small part-time farmer like secondary farmers pay attention to this agricultural method using crossbred ducks. In semi-mountainous areas paddy rice cultivation is low productivity based on handicap in nature and form interior location at market system. So full-time farmers pursuing scale of economy situated paddy rice cultivation secondary positions in their agricultural management and kept at a distance paddy rice cultivation using crossbred ducks for more working time. But part-time farmers concentrated there energy on paddy rice cultivation using crossbred ducks for environmental preservation, security of foods, and non-economic fascination in this way. And there are wrestling with direct delivery service of "Aigamo-Rice" sales. To guess by these present condition, the leading members of the duck-rice crop will be small part-time farmers in semi-mountainous areas.
