The efficiency of an alternative preservative for milk samples Sedupol, which consist of bronopol and natamicin, has been evaluated. The dynamics of microbiological indicators in raw milk samples preserved with Broad Spectrum Microtabs and Sedupol preservatives has been compared. Microbiological contaminationof milk was evaluated by the method of sowing on the plates and the technique of direct epifluorescent microscopy (DEFT). It has been determined that milk preserved with Broad Spectrum Microtabs and Sedupol retains stable microbiological indicators for 3 days, the tendency of total bacteria count decrease is observed only after 7 days. It has been found that the both preservatives have a sufficient preservation effect for a period of 15 days in low temperature above zero and for 3 days in ambient temperature for determination of fat, protein, lactose and urea content and somatic cells count in milk by the routine methods
