Change of milk processing range in dairy cooperative and its influence upon environment

The analysis of the volume of milk collection in the surveyed cooperative in 1998-99 indicated the decrease of the number of suppliers by 25 percent in the second year of research as well as decrease in milk collection by 15 percent. The average amount of delivered milk from one producer increased by 13 percent and collection seasonality declined. In 1999, significant changes were found in comparison with 1998 concerning the processing of collected milk. Little processed dairy products, such as consumption milk, were restricted in favour of increasing production of cottage cheese, sour milk and cream. The change in the milk production range of the analysed dairy in 1999 was connected with a considerable increase of the use of electricity by 13 percent, water by 26 percent and sewage production by as much as 46 percent
