Reproduction coefficients of Malopolska mares and stallions including the level of inbred. Pt. 1. Breeding Malopolska horses in state-owned studs
Gancarz, J.(Akademia Rolnicza, Krakow (Poland). Wydzial Ekonomii w Rzeszowie)
The subject of the study were Malopolska horses from state-owned studs in Janow Podlaski, Walewice, Ochaby, Prudnik, Kalnikow, Moszna, Udorz (Poland) in 1985-97. The test included 780 mares, i.e. 6098 season-mares. In the mare population, low values of reproduction coefficients were observed. This was especially true in relation to the group of archive mares, significant improvements and more beneficial value in currently bred mares (1997) such as higher ability to have foals and fertility, number of raised foals, lesser level of unproductivity, miscarriages and lack of rut. In the studied cases of Malopolska mares, significantly low values of inbred were stated and in the currently breed group (1997) a decrease was observed. A general regularity in the dependence between the value of reproduction coefficients and inbred level was found
