The shaping of raw material supply in the Meat Factory of Lublin and Lukow (Poland) in 1998

The aim of the research done in the Meat Factory of Lublin and Lukow (Poland) in 1998 was estimation of the porkers purchase size depending upon the purchase forms and their quality. In the Meat Factory in Lublin most porker were purchased in the fourth quarter of the year, but in Lukow in the first quarter of the year. The porker's purchase within long-term contracts was equalized from first to third quarters of the year but in the fourth one it was considerably higher in the analysed factories. The porkers purchased within long-term contracts were characterized by higher fleshiness than porkers purchased from middlemen and from free market purchase. It means that the level of porkers breeding in the farms entering into long-term contracts was higher than in the other ones
