Development of complete elephant feed 1994-1996

Complete elephants feed was developed by using corn, soybean meal, cassava meal, mungbean residue, sugarcane bargass, molasses and vitamin-minerals premixs as feed ingredients. The feed contains protein, fat and fiber at levels of no less than 16, 2 and 12 percents, respectively and was pelleted by soft-type pelleting machine. It was found that the appropiate pelleted feed should be 1 inch in diameter and 3-4 inch in length. The acceptance of the complete feed was very good. Feeding of the complete feed at 10-12 kg daily in combination with the natural feed for 3 months provided normal growth, health condition and digestion system to the elephants.
