Surveying of medicinal plants in Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Naresuan university

In general, medicinal plants have several properties that are benefit for human beings, especially for curing some human diseases. This study was a descriptive research focusing on collecting medicinal plants and providing their information to people. We searched for the information of medicinal plants by literature review in terms of the scientific names, family names, common names, traditional names, botanical descriptions, chemical constituents, traditional uses, propagation, pharmacological activities and clinical information. In addition, we also took the pictures of medicinal plants grown around the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Naresuan University for reference. The medicinal plants were categorized according to their pedigree, their activities on body systems, and other benefits by referring from usefulness of traditional uses. The results showed that there were 211 species of medicinal plants belonging to 79 families, 4 pedigrees (consisting of 86 species of trees, 59 species of shrubs, 46 species of herbs, and 20 species of climbers), and 11 traditional uses. These information will be further arranged and contributed to public in the future.
