Artemia nauplius fed with Tetraselmis sp. (AFT) Isochrysis galbana (AFI) and Chaetoceros calcitrans (AFC) were used as feed for seahorse, Hippocampus kuda larvae. The highest growth rate and the survival rate of seahorse larvae fed with AFT were found significantly higher than AFI and AFC. At the end of the experiment, the average weight of seahorse larvae were .0079+-0.0001, 0.0067+-0.0002 and 0.0062+-0.0009 grams; the length of seahorse larvae were 0.85+-0.003, 0.80+-0.005 and 0.78+-0.046 centimetres; and the survival rate of seahorse larvae were 63.33+-3.34, 42.22+-9.43 and 17.78+-2.38 percent, respectively according to the aforementioned three kinds of phytoplankton. Nutritional quality of artemia nauplius fed with three kinds of phytoplankton (Tetraselmis sp., I. galbana and C. calcitrans) was analysed. AFT consisted of protein, lipid, ash and nitrogen free extract elements of 59.21+-0.08, 10.10+-0.08, 16.17+-0.13 and 14.52+-0.03 percent per dry weight, respectively, AFI was 59.29+-0.45, 9.00+-0.08, 12.94+-0.45 and 24.6+-0.12 percent per dry weight, respectively and AFC was 61.51+-0.28, 8.47+-0.59, 18.21+-0.45 and 11.81+-0.14 percent per dry weight, respectively. In conclusion the growth rate and the survival rate of seahors larvae fed with AFT, it indicates that AFT was suitable living feed for seahorse larve rearing.
