2004
Tran Sang Tao
The experiment was conducted with 540 chickens of Kabir and Luong Phuong breeds to understand the interaction of crude protein (CP) and energy content (ME) in the diet on the performance of birds. Each breed of 270 mixed sex chickens allocated by weight to 9 treatments from 1 day old to 12 weeks of age in a completely randomized design (CRD). The diet of treatments was different in ratio of energy and protein (ME/CP) content. The result showed that, the best performance of Kabir and Luong Phuong chickens was the birds fed the diet containing 20.3 percent 19.1 percent ,1and 17.5 CP and ME of 3050; 3150 and 3240 Kcal/kg of feed in the periods of 0-4; 5-8 and 9-12 weeks of age. At 12 weeks of age, the body weight of Kabir chicken was 1930 g; FCR was 2,63; survival rate was 90 percent; similarly, the body weight of Luong Phuong chicken was that was 2000g; FCR was 2,52 and survival rate was 90 percent.
