The study of pinus patula seed viability in relation to time of collection and cold storage udertaken successfully at the Forest Rearch Centre in Harare. A number of germination tests were carried out. The time of collection and cold storage did not affect seed viability according to the results obtained. Records of the factors which affect viability during the collection were also collected.
