[Interaction of a cutter with a sod]

Conditions of the qualitative realization of the technological process by the working parts of soil cutter of MTD-3 machine were studied and proved by the method of mathematic modeling. The soil cutter is designed for legumes seeds undersowing into sod of hayfields and pastures without application of herbicides. Analysis of mathematical kinematic models of cutter knives motion in the conditions of oncoming and passing cutting and statistical models of sod decomposition made it possible to substantiate the efficient parameters of cutter construction and its working regimes. Scientific research of relative motion of soil particles carried out from the cutting in sod groove through the knife made it possible to create the conditions for soil paricles free motion
