Research of possibilities for adapting agricultural tractor to exploitation conditions concerning optimal traction
2005
Muzikravic, V.B.
Traction with maximal traction efficiency is invetigated on a 4x2 tractor. It is concluded that numerical models for traction prediction, tire deflection and axle weight distribution can be used to find speed or tractor on typical soils with different tools. This speed enables maximal traction efficiency for chosen tractor with drawbar pull being the only one factor affecting optimal weight distribution concerning tractor axle power. Concerning rolling resistance on two pairs of tires, it is concluded that selection of tires with lower deflection caused resistance can give higher traction efficiency from 4 to 6%, depending on soil properties. It is also concluded that geometric properties of tread can be adapted for specific soils, that is demonstrated on potential traction properties of several variations of one lug in laboratory conditions.
