Forage yield and quality of some spring crops

Three-year investigations were conducted on the soil smonitza type under three spring crops: maize, NS-640 hybrid, oats cv. Rajac and forage pea cv. NS Junior. Adequate nitrogen rates and 75 kg/ha each of phosphorus and poptassium were provided by fertilization for each of the crop species. The paper presents the following: dry matter yield, protein content and yield, as well as the energetic value of forage expressed through net energy for lactation (NEL) and net energy for growth and meat production (NEM). Sampling for the analysis was done during two growth and developmental stages: Stage 1, panicle emergence in maize and oats and flowering and onset of pea pod formation; Stage 2, milk-wax stage of grain maturity.
