Genotype x environment interaction in common bean (Phaselus vulgaris L.). [Master thesis]
2005
Zoric, M.
During the three-year period 28 different genotypes of common bean were tested, in field conditions, in order to determine the influence of genotype, year and their interaction on variation of quantitative traits of common bean. The experiment was carried out by randomized complete block design (RCBD) with three replications at Rimski Sancevi, Serbia. A few quantitative traits were studied such as: the plant height, the height of the first pod, the number of pods per plant, the number of grains per plant, the number of grains per pod, 1000-grain mass and the grain mass per plant. The genotypes x environment interaction was analyzed using AMMI model (Additive main effects and multipliactive interaction). The interrelationship of the studied traits was established by the correlation and biplot analysis. The significance of the main effects of genotypes, year and their interaction on variation of all the traits was observed. The effects of genotype showed the highest contribution of the total traits variation. For different traits as the most stable ones, various genotypes were obtained.
