anglais. Surveys were conducted in the traditional areas of apple, pear and quince cultivation in Jordan to assess the phytosanitary status of these species. The presence of virus diseases and their identification was ascertained through symptom observation in the field, sap transmission to herbaceous hosts and double antibody sandwich-enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (DAS-ELISA). A total of 1,565 samples was collected from 38 commercial orchards, a mother block, 12 nurseries and a variety collection. A total of 1,393 apple, 149 pear and 23 quince were tested individually by DAS-ELISA for Apple chlorotic leaf spot virus (ACLSV), Apple mosaic virus (ApMV), Apple stem grooving virus (ASGV) and Tomato ringspot virus (ToRSV). All four viruses were identified in a large number of these samples; ToRSV was the most widespread and ASGV was the second most prevalent

[Sono state condotte indagini nelle zone tradizionali di coltivazione del melo, del pero e del cotogno allo scopo di verificare lo stato fitosanitario di queste specie. L´individuazione delle malattie virali e la loro identificazione sono state effettuate tramite l´osservazione dei sintomi in campo, la trasmissione tramite la linfa a ospiti erbacei e il test DAS-ELISA (double antibody sandwich-enzyme linked immunosorbent assay). In totale sono stati raccolti 1.565 campioni da 38 frutteti, un blocco di piante madri, 12 vivai e una collezione di varietà. Sui campioni di 1.393 meli, 149 peri e 23 cotogni, mediante DAS-ELISA, è stata verificata la presenza dei seguenti virus: Virus della maculatura anulare del melo (ACLSV), Virus del mosaico del melo (AMV), Virus della scanalatura del tronco del melo (ASGV) e Virus della maculatura anulare del pomodoro (ToRSV). I quattro virus sono stati identificati in un numero elevato dei campioni raccolti; ToRSV è risultato quello più diffuso e ASGV il secondo per prevalenza.]
