Maternal aptitude of Cinta Senese sows and behaviour of piglets throughout suckling [Tuscany]

anglais. [Reproductive parameters of 14 Cinta Senese breed sows reared living apart in boxes were studied. Frequency, length and method of suckling, in a subset including 4 primiparous and 4 multiparous sows, and behaviour models of their litter were analyzed. Pluriparous sows gave larger and heavier litters, the primiparous ones, however, had 100% of weaned piglets. Death rate was 9.5% at birth and 6% till to weaning. The interval between two subsequent sucks was about 45 min. Primiparous sows let piglets suckling more frequently and for a longer time and spend more time in maternal care: Piglet moving and playing activities increase since second week.]
Afficher plus [+] Moins [-]italien. Sono stati studiati i parametri riproduttivi di 14 scrofe Cinte Senesi in allevamento stabulato. Di 4 primipare e 4 pluripare sono state analizzate le modalità di svolgimento delle poppate e i modelli comportamentali della prole. Le pluripare hanno dato nidiate più numerose e più pesanti; le primipare hanno comunque assicurato il 100% di svezzati. La mortalità è stata del 9,5% alla nascita e del 6% fino allo svezzamento. L´intervallo tra le poppate è stato mediamente di 45 minuti. Le primipare effettuano poppate più frequenti e più lunghe e dedicano più tempo ad accudire la prole. Le attività ludiche e motorie dei suinetti crescono dalla seconda settimana
