The author investigated the periodicity of red tide in Ise, Atsumi and Kinuura Bay during the last 15 years from 1971 to 1986. The parameter of red tide phenomenon was selected from the total number of working days of red tide, The periodicity was evaluated by using maximum entropy method which is a kind of spectrum analysis. 1) On the periodicity of the total number of working days of red tide, the similar tendency in both Ise and Atsumi Bay was recognized. That is, during the last 15 years, the 12 month periodicity was mainly observed and the next was the 6, 4 and 3 month periodicity. During the last 10 years (1976 -1986) and 5 years (1981-1986), the relative intensity of the 12 month periodicity tended to decrease, and the 6, 4 and 3 month periodicity, to increase, respectively. 2) The periodicity in Kinuura Bay was different from those evaluated in Ise and Atsumi Bay. The 4 month periodicity was mainly observed, the next was the 12 month periodicity. Especially, during the last 10 years and 5 years, the 4 month periodicity was strongly marked.
