Model wastewater coagulation with polyaluminium coagulants under laboratory conditions is described in the paper. Suspended Solids, Turbidity, COD and pH were determined in the wastewater supernatant to test the coagulating ability of polyaluminium coagulants. Jar-tests performed in several repetitions showed highly probable differentation in the coagulating ability of three types of PAC characterized by very similar composition and properties. The data collected were analysed with regression tests. The highest values of the determination coefficient R2 were obtained for a second-degree polynomial. The optimum coagulant dose was calculated as the value x for df(x)=0. It was concluded that the differences in the coagulating ability of the same type of aluminium coagulants must have resulted from a different number of aluminium polycations with the valence +3 in the coagulation system examined
