This study touched many issues related to the competitiveness of the Polish farm sector, but also certainly left much room for further empirical research which might be able to make the concepts presented here more insightful. The primary objective of the study was to assess changes in the competitiveness of Polish agricultural producers in the 1990s becaortant for Poland's successful competition in the EU Common Market. The period of the country's transition initiated strong pressure on all Polish sectors opening the economy up to international competition (trade liberalization) and domestic rivalry between sectors for the best production factors
