The aim of the research was the evaluation of herbicidal pollution in surface and groundwater on arable areas. The samples were collected from stationary 27 points, twice a year (in spring and autumn about 4-6 weeks after nominal term of herbicide application), groundwater from 18 wells. The residues of active compounds in surface and groundwater were detected and determined using chromatography methods. Maximum of residues were detected in surface water samples - up to 0.001 mg/l for triazines and phenoxy acids (2.4-D, MCPA). In groundwater (from wells) residues were detected sporadically and its level was lower than in surface water samples
