A main plot of experiment was system of winter rye cultivation used for 22-24 years - crop rotation and continous crop with varying methods of post-harvest and pre-sowing tillage - normal and higher level of mineral fertilization as a subplot. The negative effect of long-term continuous crop on growth and yielding of winter rye was observed. Yield of grain was lower by 15.7 percent in monoculture under conventional tillage compared to crop rotation. First of all it was result of sparsely stand and lower thousand grain weight
