The history and the present state of fruit growing are highlighted. The necessity of the creation of the intensive dwarfing orchards which surpass the vigorous ones by many indices is shown. The demerits of dwarf rootstocks are pointed out. The example of growing of apple trees on seedling rootstocks with a dwarfing clone insertion as an alternative to receive intensive orchards was given. The results of the research in many countries are presented and the great potential of interstem has been demonstrated. The economic efficiency of such orchards is shown. Thus, the analysis of literary data shows, that receiving of undersized trees is probably not only at an inoculation of cultural varieties on rooted semidwarfish or dwarfish stocks, but also on roots strongly sized stocks with an inoculation of an intermediate link, which belongs to the weak sized form (insert). Recently such inoculations are being used more and more wide at apple-trees cultivation in our country and abroad. However the question of influence of intercalare (intermediate) inserts on growth and fructification of apple trees now is not enough studied and checked. Economic efficiency of the orchards planted by trees with inserts is the same, as planted by the trees inoculated on veaksized stocks, not demanding a support. At comparison with the orchards planted by trees, inoculated on dwarfish stocks, needed in support, seedlings use with inserts will give economy of capital investments on establishment of 1 hectares orchard in amount of 1150-1180 roubles
