El conocimiento de los enemigos naturales del ácaro blanco Polyphagotarsonemus latus y su comportamiento bioecológico son premisas necesarias para el buen control de este ácaro que produce daños de consideración en nuestras plantaciones citrícolas. Brotes internos de naranjo Citrus sinensis variedad Valencia afectados por este tarsonemido fueron colectados en septiembre de 1985 en el área bajo lucha integrada de la Empresa Enrique Troncoso en Pinar del Río; se encontraron algunos de estos ácaros parasitados por Hirsutella nodulosa Petch y resultó el informe de esta nueva micosis nuestro principal objetivo.

Knowledge of the white mitess natural enemies and its biological behavior are necessary premises for obtaining an efficient control of this mite which produces considerable damage to our citrus groves. Young shoots of 'Valencia' orange (Citrus sinensis Osbeck) affected by this tarsonemid were collected in September 1985 in the integrated-control area of the 'Enrique Troncoso' Citrus Enterprise in Pinar del Río. It was found that some of these mites were attacked by Hirsutella nodulosa Petch, for this reason, the present paper aims at reporting on this new mycosis.
