The author is the general-manager of a subsidiary company of the French Bongrain firm, whose PhD dissertation was titled "Competitiveness in the Hungarian dairy sector". The research findings are detailed in five main chapters of the dissertation. In the course of them the support of agriculture, world market prospects of milk and dairy products, regulation of dairy sector and state of dairy industry are analysed, then the realizable strategies of the Hungarian dairy industry are outlined.
