The topic of the paper is manganese, belonging to essential metallic microelements. The article deals with questions of the physiological role of manganese and the daily MN-requirement of the human body. The foodstuffs of animal origin contain only low concentration of manganese. Usually the main sources for covering the need of the organism are the cereals, bakery products. Nuts are very rich in manganese and tea has also a very high Mn content.
