Drought Resistance Evaluation of 20 lentil genotypes
2003
Neyestani, Elyas | Azimzadeh, Mortaza
This design was conducted in order to evalution of lentil genotypes drought resistance with used 20 lentil genotypes with randomized complete block design with 3 replication in to irrigated and dryland condition in 2002-2003 at North of khorasan dryland Research station (Shirvan). The data analysis for each experimental was done based on randomized complete block design and then combined analysis was done. There is no significant differences among genotypes in traits : length, days to maturity, electric conductivity of leaves, water relative content of leaves and one hundred seed weight, but there is significant differences in traits: days to %50 flowering and seed yield among genotypes. In this research drought resistance of lentil genotypes, was studied by methods of Fisher and Mourrer, Fernandes, Cell Membrane Stability, Relative Water Content. Except of Fernandes Stress Tolerance Index (STI), the other indices did not show a close relationshi p with yield. So that many of high yielding genotypes according to this index were not drought tolerant. Since, in Fisher and Mourrer Stress Susceptibility Index, the yield difference between two location is important, so we can suggest that this is not a suitable method to selection of drought resistant genotypes, while Stress Tolerance Index was better than other indexes.
