The present study was conducted to elucidate the role of glucocorticoids in 2,3,7,8-tetrachlordibenzo-p-dioxin (TCDD)-induced teratogenesis, since TCDD exposure increased glucocorticoids release and exhibited synergistic teratogenicity with glucocorticoids. Pregnant C57BL/6J mice were bilaterally adrenalectomized on gestational day (GD) 7, and orally challenged with TCDD (14㎍/kg) on GD12. Cesarian section was performed on GD18 for the evaluation of maternal and fetal toxicities.
