In the year 1996- 2004, GDP increased 2593.1 million litas (LTL) in Lithuania. The increasing speed was 78, 53 million litas (LTL). It is prognosis that GDP will be 73228.39 million litas (LTL) in the year 2007 and 77691.69 million litas (LTL) in the year 2008. In the year 2000-2004, the gross domestic product increased 991.15 million litas (LTL). The increasing speed was 524.69 million litas (LTL). It is prognosis that in the year 2007 GDP will be 85878.36 million litas (LTL) and 95789.24 million litas (LTL) in the year 2008. The calculated potential increasing of GDP makes possibility to presume that the incomes for one Lithuanian inhabitant will increase and come close to the EU average, if the State government is able to decrease unemployment and increase labour productivity.
