[Study of the collection of maize lines obtained by haplomethods]
2006
Cernov, A. | Mihailov, M. | Maslobrod, S.
41 doubled haploid (DH)lines in maize derived from F1 hybrid MK01u x A619 were tested for quantitative traits. The double haploid technique manifested itself as an effective method for rapid creating of new maize lines, for extension of morphogenetic diversity of initial material. The study of the collection of DH lines have confirmed the hypothesis about the complex polygenic nature of the inheritance of plant traits (steam length and diameter, plant height, tassel length, ear insertion height, number of nodes) and ear traits (grain weight, ear length and diameter). The suggestion can be made that there are genes exerting strong effects on stem diameter, number of nodes and productivity of the investigated lines.
