Nematicidal activity of selected plant species against the root-knot nematode (Meloidogyne graminicola) affecting bulb onion

Neem, Kuyot, papaya and Euphorbia regardless of form such as fresh extract, chopped leaves/ tuber and powder significantly reduced the number of galls and nematode population in roots and in soil. Plant height and fresh weights of onion were highest with the application of Kuyot as powder. except for kuyot, however, neem, papaya and Euphorbia applied as powder significantly reduced the nematode population in the soil. Their effects were comparable to the nematicide, Mocap.
