2005
Phonpakdee, R.
The study attempted to determine indicators of lateral thinking skills being demonstrated by agricultural education students in KMITL and find out the factors that could have influenced for such presence. This research studied 156 students and seven teachers at the Department of Agricultural Education (DAE), KMITL. Descriptive and quantitative research methods were employed to gather data using open-and-close-ended questionnaires at tests. Descriptive statistics such as frequencies, means, range, standard deviation, and percentages, inferential statistics, chi-square test, Spearman Rark Correlation and stepwise regression were likewise used. Results of the study revealed three student-related variables: educational level of students' father, home town, and democratic leadership style of students could predict lateral thinking skills of students while teacher-and -school-related factors did not influence lateral thinking skills of students. Sin ce this study might have other variables that affect lateral thinking such as environmental factors as well as the Thai culture, wherein students must respect and obey their teachers, hindered learning in problem-solving of students and in a way determined the types of problems they encountered. Thus, further study related to this area should be conducted to validate results.
