The purpose of the studies was to estimate the levels of selected hematological and biochemical parameters of variously coloured minks' blood and to evaluate the dependences between the blood metabolism profile and animals' body size. The blood of 183 young minks from the fur animal farm was studied. The animals were characterized by standard and pastel types. The level of hematocrit, hemoglobin, total protein, total cholesterol, cholesterol HDL, total lipids as well as the content of alkaline phosphatase in relation to colour type and sex were taken into consideration. Statistical characteristics of measurements were performed by a two-way analysis of variance. The colour type of minks had a significant influence on the level of hematocrit, total protein, total cholesterol, cholesterol HDL and total lipids, however, it did not affect the hemoglobin level or the content of alkaline phosphatase. The sex had no influence on any of the studied parameters. The content of alkaline phosphatase decreased along with increasing body size, regardless of sex. The level of total cholesterol decreased while the level of cholesterol HDL increased along with increasing males' body size. The level of hematocrit and total lipids decreased along with increasing females' body size
