The effect of several storage treatment of large sets (20-25 mm in diameter) on the onion yielding was investigated. From October to March, sets were kept in following conditions: I-24 weeks at 0-1 deg C, II-15 weeks at 0-1 deg C, then 9 weeks at 18-20 deg C, III-11 weeks at 0-1 deg C, then 13 weeks at 18-20 deg C, IV-24 weeks at 18-20 deg C. Centurion F1 and Jetset F1 cvs. were characterized by the biggest resistance to bolting and doubling. In cvs. Rawska, Karmen and Wenta sets storage at 0-1 deg C for 24 weeks resulted in the biggest share of plants with flower stalks (respectively, 45.6 percent, 67.7 percent i 72.1 percent), the lowest total yield of onion and the smallest share of plants with double onions. However, the shortening of sets storage at 0-1 deg C, and prolonging of storage time at 18-20 deg C significantly affected the decrease of bolters number and increase of double bulbs number
