Influence of protein level in the diet of young lactating sows, litter size and parity on estrous reactions

In this paper it has been investigated the effect of protein level, litter size and parity on oestrous reaction after weaning and on the length between weaning and oestrous. Significant different were found as far as, dependence upon the protein level in lactating sows diet, is concerned and the length of period beween weaning and oestrous and also the percentage of sows being again in heat. There is tendency of somewhat lower oestrous reaction as well as extension of time between weaning and oestrous with an increase of the litter size. It was also found that parity in order affected the post weaning oestrous reaction of sows and the length of time between weaning and next oestrous.
