For production of liquid supplements monoammonium phosphate and diammonium phosphate have been used, besides molasses, as very economic sources of phosphorous and non-protein nitrogen. Optimum concentrates of these components and their effect on improvement of alfalfa silage process are determined in this paper. Using liquid supplements, the quality of fresh alfalfa silage was significantly improved. Besides the improvement of pH in mass silaged, the content of lactic acid was also increased. The increase of butyric acid was not registered in the samples investigated. The destruction of the colouring matters was insignificant. Liquid supplement contained 68% dry matter and did not have any significant effect on the increase of total moisture content in mass silaged.
