Cucurbits are very important crops in many countries. The most significant cucurbits disease are those caused by viruses. Concerning pumpkin virus diseases, three viruses were detected in Serbia after 2000: Cucumber mosaic virus (CMV), Watermelon mosaic virus 2 (WMV2) and Zucchini yellow mosaic virus (ZYMV). Viral infections symptoms on pumpkins are very severe and variable. Disease appearance and spread depends on the causal virus. There are different control measures for viral diseases, but most of them are based on prevention.
