The perspective grapevine clones for high quality red wines

In this paper have been presented some characteristics of most spread grapevine clones for high quality red wines. The aim of this work was pointed to some quantitative and quality potential of next grapevine clones: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir and Cabernet Frank to people with interest for establishment of new vineyard areas. Our preliminary results and results obtained in institutions where selection had been performed showed that the best clones are thouse with high grape quality and small yields. Tree clones of each varieties had been recommended for new vineyards disregarding to their size.
