The use of semiaquatic vegetation gives significant results in the case of communal sanitary waste water purification, as well as in the case of other types waste waters. It is the first time that communal waste water purification based on the Constructed Wetlands Systems method has been applied in Serbia (place Glozan near Novi Sad) starting 2004. The paper presents the results of the dominant plant species Phragmites australis chemical content before sanitary waste water was released into the Constructed Wetlands Systems complex (2004), as well as after it has been exploited for a year (2005).
