Selected parameters of metabolic and milk profile of cows were observed in three groups of cows in relation to different levels of nutrition according to respective pasture seasons. The experiment was conducted with 18 dairy cows of Slovak Pinzgau breed. They were divided into three groups (group a, b, c), each comprising six cows, according to the following criteria: efficiency at the beginning of experiment 18 kg milk lactation stage 30-40 days after calving; number of lactations 3; live weight 530-570kg and fat content in milk+/-1.5%. Cows were given beer malt husks (except the control group) in amount of 1.5 resp. 3.0 kg of dry matter a day (groups b and c) to the pasture. The cows were given 0.5 kg of the DOG grain mix per kilogram of milk yield above 12 kg. The grazing time lasted 138 days and was divided into four grazing cycles that were characterized by different lasting according to grass growth. At the end of each grazing cycle, blood, urine and milk samples were taken from each cow. Blood serum was observed for the concentration of glucose, urea and asparate aminotransferase, urine for urea concentration and milk for urea content, total proteins and titratable acidity.
