Life cycle and morphological characteristics of Valsa cincta (Fr.)Fr.
2007
Pavlidu, M.
The study was effected in 20052006 at the apricot gardens in the districts of Silistra and Kyustendil. Biological and microscopic studies were made to trace the life cycle and the morphological characteristic of the agent of cytosporosis Valsa cincta (Fr.) Fr., anamorph Cytospora cincta Sacc.) on apricot. As a result of the effected studies, a morphological characteristic was made of the separate phases of the development of the anamorph stage (Cytospora cincta) and the development of the life cycle of the pathogen was traced. It was established that the picnidia appear in April, and the largest number of fruiting bodies on a cm2 was registered in June. The existence of a teleomorph stage (Valsa cincta) here was confirmed. A morphological characteristic of the separate phases of its development was made and its appearance in the course of the life cycle of the pathogen was traced. The appearance of the peritecia was registered in August and the largest number of fruiting bodies on a cm2 was established in October.
