Obtaining of new 2-nitrostyryl-8-acetyloxiquinolines as a potentional antimicrobial chemothetapeutics

New, unknown 2-nitrostyryl-8-acetyloxiquinolines were obtained by interaction between 2-methyl-8-hydroxiquinoline and nitro substituted aromatic aldehydes in a medium of acetic anhydride and in the presence of anhydrous sodium acetate at temperature 160-165 0C. Yields of the new compounds vary from 46% to 97% compared to the theoretical values. In the preliminary microbiological screening some of the new compounds showed a significant bacteriostatic effect, similar or higher than that of the original compounds against Staphyloccocus aureus and Bacillus anthracis.
