The pollen susceptibility in plant buds and flowers from garden pea varieties Mira, Iskar and Skinado treated with 35, 40 and 45 °C is genetically determined. Increase of the temperatures and duration of influence results in decrease of pollen viability in reproductive plant organs and in increase of buds and flowers number where the pollen has completely lost its viability. On the basis of the performed investigations critical temperature regimes for male gametophyte /35 and 40 °C for 5 hours and 45 °C for 2 and 3 hours/ for test of garden pea gene pool, as well as for selection of genotypes tolerant to high temperatures are determined in the Maritsa Vegetable Crops Research Institute, Plovdiv.
