[Germplasm of hazel (Corylus) genus in Belarus]

Long-term plant breeding research has brought out the diversity of nut crops of the genus Corylus. The research made it possible to create a valuable gene-pool comprising selected forms of common hazel, promising introduced hazel species as well as varieties and accessions of the cultivated hazel (Filberts). Further work foresees preservation of valuable gene-pool with the help of creation of the collection and selected areas. Perspective varieties and forms of filbert (Corylus maxima) are recommended for use both in selection and in vegetative propagation with the aim of production trial
