Research results of the comparative analysis of hydrogen-producing activity of cell culture of green aquatic plant Dunaliella salina Teod. incubated on the standard culture media Artary and biogen deficit culture media without nitrogen, phosphorus or sulfur were presented. It was proved that Dunaliella salina released the hydrogen more intensively on the biogen deficit culture media (without nitrogen, phosphoros and expulsion with argon) than on the standard media with argon application which was used for the creation of anaerobic conditions necessary for hydrogen generation. It was showed that for the effective hydrogen release the presence of oxidation substrates (H-donors) was compulsory. Glucose proved to be the best oxidation substrate. Influence of iron cations on the activity of hydrogen formation depended on their concentration: in the conditions of low temperature the hydrogen release increased, in the conditions of high temperature – lowered. On the biogen deficit culture media from slime wastes without expulsion with argon the hydrogen release started on the second day of incubation and continued in course of 4-5 days. Research results proved that slime wastes could be used for the preparation of incubation media
