Factors influencing the consumer behaviour when buying food

Different factors that may influence the buying behaviour of Czech consumers when buying food were analysed using the results of a survey carried out with 1,074 Czech households in November and December 2004. Respondents were classified on the base of their annual income, residency, social group, age and education. According to the respondents, their behaviour was mainly influenced by the quality, price, discounts, habits and product attributes, whereas advertising, brand and package were not important. All the different groups were influenced by reduced prices.
